Hong Kong to Your Macau Hotel by Private Chauffeur: A Practical Guide (2026)

Many visitors cross to Macau for a hotel stay. Whether you are heading to the Macau Peninsula or to Taipa and Cotai, the last part of the trip is the part people plan least. This guide sets out your options after you cross the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge (HZMB). For the full crossing process, documents and surcharges, see our Hong Kong to Macau chauffeur guide.
Option 1: Public transport after the Macao Port
The Macao Port is on the artificial island of the HZMB. The Macao government lists public buses, hotel shuttle buses and taxis as the onward connections from the Macao Port Zone. Its published taxi tariff shows an extra MOP 8 surcharge for taxis boarded at the HZMB Macao Port artificial island. Macau hotels also advertise free shuttles from the HZMB Macao Port; check your hotel’s own page for times and pick-up points.
Option 2: One car to your Macau hotel
With a pre-booked chauffeur car, you stay in the same vehicle from your Hong Kong pick-up point to your Macau address, with no change of vehicle after immigration.
- Black Toyota Alphard VIP: up to 6 adults and 4 large cases.
- English, Cantonese and Mandarin speaking chauffeur.
- Fixed fares, bridge, tunnel and toll charges included.
| Route | One-way | Same-day return |
|---|---|---|
| Macau ⇄ HK Airport / Kowloon | HK$2,700 | HK$5,200 |
| Macau ⇄ Hong Kong Island / New Territories | HK$2,900 | HK$5,600 |
Which should you choose?
- Travelling light with flexible timing: public transport and hotel shuttles can work. Check shuttle hours first, because services vary by hotel.
- Families, luggage, a late arrival or a fixed schedule: one car end to end is simpler.
